Top of the rock

The best observation deck in Manhattan to take visitors in my opinion, is The Top of the Rock, at Rockefeller Center. It is the dTourist version of the Empire State Building.

And speaking of ESB . . .

Swarovski Crystals inside the interior wall on the top interior floor.

On a weekday, even in summer, you can often just walk right up to the ticket window, purchase a ticket, and slide right through to the elevator with out any lines at all. Once at the top, unlike ESB, you can get right up to the edge of the observation deck to view and take photos, without having wait your turn, or push and wedge your way in there. It is sweet!

You can also pre-purchase timed tickets online, to make your accent even speedier. Plus, when you go down, HELLO, you are at Rockefeller Center, with either the skating rink, or Rink Bar drinks waiting for you, depending on the time of year.
