St. Giles


My second favorite church (after Roslyn Chapel), or "kirk" as they are called in Scotland, in the Edinburgh area is St. Giles.

The crown dome was added in a later update of the early kirk. You can see how it was set on the once square top.


This church is massive and brutally sparse in its design, with a medieval quality that is so powerful.

It has been added on to many times.
