A house built in 1490 is old by any standard

On the Royal Mile, at the foot of high Street, sits the John Knox house, one of the oldest surviving tenement houses in Edinburgh. It was built around 1490.

It is a typical 15th century townhouse, with crow-stepped gables, and an external staircase.

It has just undegone a renovation, and is open for inspection if you care to visit. A great look back into the lives of the people who lived here long ago. Posted by Picasa
