I thought it would be brilliant to blog the exhibit, but of course, they do not allow any photos. So I took several of this one sculpture out on the terrace.
The bottom half of the sculpture is immobile, the top part moves freely with the wind.
The immobile sculptures are called stabiles, the ones that hang and move are called mobiles. This phrase was coined specifically for Calder's sculputes, by Marcel DuChamp, a fellow surrealist.
