Biggest fire in 10 years
Except for 9-11, this is the biggest fire the NYFD has had to fight in the past 10 years. 7 buildings going up in smoke.
They used 8 ladder trucks, 3 fire boats on the river side, and over 350 firefighters to contain this fire. It is burning so hot, they are having difficulty getting close enough to fight it. At least a couple firefighters have gone to the hospital so far.
To the left of the photo, you can see the United Nations building, citibank, and Trump's residential tower. Below is a close-up of that area.
In this shot, you can again see 3 firefighters, at the very bottom, almost center. They appear quite tiny in comparison to the skyscrapers acoss the river. The fire has spread to the left of the photo as I have watched this morning.
