Kangoo Jumps: the Coolest New Exercise Idea

Kangoo Jumps Rebound Exercise Shoes, Jumping Shoes, Low Impact Shoes - Kangoo Jumps models

I read about Kangoo Jumps classes in the November issue of UK ELLE fashion magazine. I was so taken with the idea I did a search to find the product page. I have seen acrobats using these or something similar, to do flips and tricks, on the Today show and Olympic Ceremonies, etc. It didn't occur to me that you could use them for everyday fitness, but what a great idea! The aerobic classes would certainly be novel, but the idea of using them for low-impact jogging could be a huge boon to those athletes limited by back and joint constraints.

Will this be the next big fitness trend in NYC? I am certainly game.

FRAGILE NEW YORK

Cool new fashion brand seen at the dog park, Fragile New York, is designed by Jeremy Paskell. Here he models a pair of his pants.

Perfect for a rainy day (or taking your dog out for a walk), the bottom of the legs are made out of recycled Army bags. Brilliant idea, plus they look cool.

Fragile New York designs can be found at YOU hair salon on Driggs and Metropolitan in Williamsburg, and Suite 303 (another salon) in the Chelsea Hotel on 23rd street in Manhattan. Posted by Picasa

Shadow Art

This awesome effect appeared over the weekend in W'burg. This shot was taken at night, so the shadow is a bit off.

What a cool idea. I later saw a post box, and an empty bottle shadowed as well. There was a web address written in small letters on the bottle shadow, but it was smudged beyond recognition.

If anyone recognizes this work, please leave a message in the comment section so I can give credit. Posted by Picasa

More Alexander Reykjavik (6 months)

My, what long legs you have. I always tell people that walking him is like dating a supermodel, because of all the attention he gets.

Alexander Reykjavik is growing

Saying good-bye to the crate he was in when he flew here from Iowa at 12 weeks.

He is now 6 months . . .

and he's growing out of his giant dog crate as well. Posted by Picasa

Fashion Forward

Forgoing the typical black tights/leggings for a lipstick colored pair, bookended by sleek black skirt and boots.

Brilliant pairing here. A voluminous coat with petal hem, paired with fold-over boots, both of-the-moment ideas.

Again, mostly flat boots seen on Bedford st.

This is a great look with the coordinated boots and jacket in similar color.
