Volcanic warm springs
Here is a great place to warm up after spending the afternoon in the tide pools. It is a short distance from the tide pools, on the southerly Puna coastal area, in the southeast of Hawaii. The name is on the brown sign on the riight side of the photo.
Good view of the ocean, just beyond this great warm water soaking pool. The ocean is a different color here than in Kona, much more turquoise, or maybe marine blue? Aquamarine, that's it!
Here is a close-up of the ocean inlet/outlet. Cooooold water from the ocean comes in here.
A volcanic spring feeds this pool, keeping it at 91-95 degree. You can feel the warm and cool spots as you swim through it.
Funnyheads enjoying the warm water. Ocean just beyond.
Fishy above my leg on the left.
