Haleakala Summit View

Observatory on top of Haleakala, not open to visitors. It looks like a space station on the moon.

Outside the Visitor Center, we saw tourists saddling up for a 4 mile ride down into the crater on the Sliding Sands trail. Not a pleasant day for a ride at his moment, since the drizzle is feeling like rain. It can change in a minute though.

The clouds move constantly and fast up here. We were very lucky to get the view we did from the Visitor Center, because when we drove the extra few hundred feet from the visitor's center to the Summit Viewpoint for this is what we saw.

And here is the close-up shot.
