Two Horses Ask: How Wet Can We Get?

These two draft horses absolutely know the best way to spend a summer day.

Not only are they in point blank range of one of the rotating sprinkler heads, but also right next to a leak in the pipe, affording them maximum water flow.

The one on the right looks as though he is not up for the water park . . .

. . . but the gleam on his haunches tells me he has already taken part in the sport, and moved on to greener pastures.

Deer in Oregon

Grazing in the grass at Eagle Creek, near Redmond Oregon, these deer are having a field day. Not sure what the farmers think of the situation though.

I counted 8 in all.

Hood To Coast: The Morning After

The beautiful beach at Seaside, Oregon. The beauty of still standing in one piece after a 29+ hour relay race.

A van, still decorated from the race, with what appears to be an angler in a raft, heading for the coast.

A runner contemplates the ginormous whale skeleton through the window of the Seaside Aquarium.

The tents at the finish line still standing after the evening festivities of the night before. We lucked out with an incredibly sun-splashed morning after in Seaside. A perfect day to play at the beach.

Hood To Coast Relay

The thrill begins.

The Middle.

Runners milling about in the drizzle of the Cascade Mountains, waiting for their turn at a relay exchange. Its fun, really, it is.

The End.

Balloons flying high at the finish line. The darkened sky tells you it was quite late by the time our team finished, but we did it.
